Commercial trucks are commonly referred to as “big rigs” and we see them everyday transporting commercial goods and even hazardous or flammable materials. These “big-rigs” are significantly larger than the vehicles we drive everyday, sometimes weighing over 25 times as much as our typical cars.

When these powerful trucks collide with our vehicles the injuries and long-term damage can be catastrophic.

Statistics released by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDot) for 2020 showed that over 32,000 crashes involved Commercial Motor Vehicles, such as 18-wheelers. Of those crashes there were 513 fatal accident resulting in the loss of 581 people.

Unfortunately, Texas has led the nation in commercial truck accidents for over a decade, accounting for 14% of deaths in the United States.

Most commercial truck accidents happen on the highways we drive everyday.
